Work where your code stays yours to run
Small team, no layers between you and the product. You design it, you build it, you operate it — and you can point at the result.
What the work is
Two streams: the software behind a physical-security manufacturer's business, and Aha Invoice, the bookkeeping product we engineer and support. Day to day that means cross-platform application work across web, mobile, tablet and desktop; backend services and data layers; and the operational work of running all of it in production.
How we actually engineer
Not aspirations — the rules the codebase runs under today:
- Tests gate commits. A failing suite blocks the merge, for everyone.
- Every API change ships with its OpenAPI spec update in the same change — the spec is validated at boot, so drift fails loudly.
- The audit layer is sacred: append-only records, signed chains, daily integrity verification. Read how it works before your interview and you'll have questions we enjoy answering.
- Reviews are about the code, written to be read by a colleague in two years.
- We operate what we ship — monitoring, backups and recovery are engineering work, not someone else's department.
Open roles
No advertised openings right now — we post roles here only when they exist. But a small company's hiring is mostly about meeting the right people early: if production software work with real operational responsibility sounds like your kind of job, introduce yourself and say what you'd want to work on.
